Annual “Care for Our Heroes” drive sends 1,500 care packages to US troops

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE, CA — Dilbeck Real Estate has again partnered with For the Troops to gather donated supplies and create more than 1,500 “We Care” packages, to provide to US military troop members all over the world. These packages contain basic necessities such as toiletries, comfort items such as eye drops and foot powder, delicious goodies, games and, most of all, a show of support. Dilbeck’s team members have also created many handwritten thank-you notes, so each recipient has a personal note to let them know how much they are valued.

Sales partners and staff at Dilbeck’s ten branch offices across Southern California have been gathering supplies for these packages since late September, in an annual effort to provide this supplementary aid to the active military members who do so much for us. For weeks, donations have been brought to offices or shipped directly via donations made through Amazon.com, and this has been one of the company’s most successful drives yet.

It all came together at our La Canada office on Saturday, November 5, where about 50 volunteers assembled the packages into easy-to-ship bags. For the Troops will coordinate shipping and delivery. That organization has grown substantially in volunteers and donors since their inception in 2005 and has distributed more than 250,000 packages year-round to American troops who risk their lives overseas every day — far away from the comforts of home.

Dilbeck Real Estate is very proud to be part of this effort, which is led by someone who understands the program’s importance on a very personal level. Juan Carlos Argueta, one of the firm’s sales partners and manager of Dilbeck’s commercial division and a veteran himself, shares, “Military service is hard and challenging, and being away from home makes it even harder. Operation Care For Our Heroes’ mission is to brighten a military service member’s day by sending a little bit of home comfort. From personal experience as a Soldier, and I’m sure it goes the same for Sailors, Airmen, and Marines, getting a care package and a letter from the people you defend and protect means a whole lot! “

This annual campaign is part of the company’s Operation Keys for Our Heroes program, an expression of ongoing service commitment to active military, veterans and first responders.
